Red Mink Birds

One-Of-A-Kind

Created by special request ... this has been on my "to do" list since about 2009. Thank goodness my collector was extremely patient because year after year I had promised to design a bird and make it from the few bits of red mink scraps that I had been saving.  I hope it was worth the wait.

One bird is my version of a red cardinal.
The other bird is just a whimsical imaginary bird.
Sorry, I can't take any other requests for red birds simply because I don't have any more of this sheared red mink. So both of these birds are definitely OOAKs.

UPDATE: Sorry, both birds have been ADOPTED

Each bird was available as a separate adoption

ADOPTION FEE is $325 USD for each bird

Red Cardinal Bird

has been ADOPTED ... and named "Spirit"
After this Cardinal was adopted and named "Spirit" I updated
it with more intense black accents (painted) on the face and
top of wings

below are photos of the original Cardinal:
#3532

Height 5 inches
Length 8 inches

Hand sculpted bead

Wire wrapped legs
glass eyes
unjointed

Note: I am copying the listing below to it's own page because I will be sending out "Adoption Invitations" to the collectors on my General Mailing List to offer it for immediate adoption.

Whimsical Bird

UPDATE: this bird has been ADOPTED .... and "Pepper"

#3533

This bird is similar in size and pattern
to the Cardinal Bird
with the addition of
a cream mink chest,
cream mink wing tops,
and feather top notch
and feather tail tops

Features of both birds

Legs are shaped wire that has been wrapped and sealed

Wings are scissor sculpted

Tails are heart shaped

Beaks are hand sculpted from polymer clay
