Work In Progress

This is a continuation of the photo essay of my WIP with the unusually patterned mink coat being transformed into a teddy bear (using a larger pattern version of my pajama teddy bear)

The patterns have to be laid out ...

the left side has to match the right side, the patterns
have to line exactly

head is almost finished

I matched up the pattern for the front of the body

Update: Dec 2, 2014

Teddy's body has "stripes"
I used the inside of the pocket for the paw pads because is is velvet

Ear placement!

Different ear positions will give the teddy
very different personalities

I prefer to keep the ears on my teddies
in a more "classic" position

Custom Order for Kathy

I finally finished with this custom order!  I was looking forward to finishing this order because this was the last custom order request that I received in 2013.

Now I am starting on the orders received in 2014 ... finally!

I'm still running about a year behind on my custom orders but I'm almost caught up because I didn't take in as many custom order requests this year as I did for 2013.

But next I'm working on the orders that I promised for Christmas.

This is another Mother-Daughter set, which seems to be one of my most popular pattern requests for Custom Orders ... and one of my favorites to make!

Features of the Mother-Daughter set:
~ Hand-stitched vintage mink ~

~ Daughter bear stands 10 inches tall ~
~ Interior is lined for extra durability ~
~ Glass eyes ~

~ Embroidered, waxed and sealed nose ~
~ Wire armature in arms and legs for gentle posing ~
~ 6 joints including a double jointed neck which allows for an adorable head tilt ~

Custom Brown Bear Set

Custom Order for Paula
from a beautiful rich dark brown vintage mink jacket

The pattern I used was my Mother-Daughter set

The lining of the jacket had such beautiful trapunto and monograms
that I had to make a quilt for the teddies to sit on.
I even kept the pocket with the second monogram.
